Grade II listed Sheafhouse collapse
After years of neglect, a significant section of the Sheafhouse has collapsed and by the looks of it, more may soon follow.
This failure of responsibility has prompted the Sherborne community to again urge the National Trust to take immediate action to protect the Sheafhouse and other important nearby listed buildings and landscape.
The Parish Council has reported the situation to the National Trust and written to the Cotswold District Council’s Conservation Office to raise awareness. The letter and associated photographs of the collapse are attached below for reference.
In the meantime, please do not visit the site. It is private property and there are no public footpaths nearby. In its current state of dilapidation, it is also dangerous.
We will keep you updated.
